Who we are

HZN DayZ is a hobbyist community running modded DayZ servers and this website. We are not affiliated with Bohemia Interactive. Reach us through Discord.

What we record

When you play, we record account identifiers, connection details, and gameplay activity. In-game chat is relayed to our Discord and is subject to Discord's own policies from that point. If you sign in to this website, we record your Discord account details and the technical details of your session.

We use this to operate the servers, enforce the rules, and investigate cheating. We do not describe our anti-cheat tooling in detail, for reasons that should be obvious.

The only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

Routine gameplay activity is deleted automatically after 90 days. Account identifiers and enforcement records are kept indefinitely, because expiring them would defeat the point of a ban.

Bans are permanent. Cheating, duping and ban evasion are not appealable, as set out in the rules.

Who can see it

HZN staff only. None of it is public, and we do not sell or share it. Steam and Discord act as service providers where the platform requires it. Otherwise nobody else receives it unless we are legally required to hand it over.

Your choices

Ask us in Discord and we will tell you what we hold against your Steam ID, correct it, or delete it. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the servers playable and cheat-free.

One limit: we will not delete a ban. If you are banned, we will remove your gameplay history on request but keep the records that enforce the ban. Otherwise this page would be a tool for getting around one. Appeals go through Discord and are a separate conversation.

Children

DayZ is rated for mature players. Our servers are not intended for anyone under 13 and we do not knowingly keep their data.

Changes

If this materially changes, we will update this page and say so in Discord.
